Jesse Barker Gale is a research assistant and program coordinator for the Alliances and American Leadership Project at CSIS. His past research includes the contemporary U.S.-Australia-Japan security relationship, which he pursued as a visiting scholar at the Center for Australia, New Zealand, and Pacific Studies at Georgetown University. Mr. Barker Gale holds a bachelor of international studies (hons.) from Flinders University and is pursuing a Ph.D. in international relations from Flinders University.
The reestablishment of the Quad in 2017 points to tectonic shifts in the geopolitics of Asia and in the foreign policies of the members of the original Quad.
